Valérie Bélanger (soprano) – Noémie

In June of 2013,  VALÉRIE BÉLANGER will debut at Opéra-Théâtre de Rimouski, taking on the role of Madeleine in Le Postillon de Longjumeau.  Last February, she had the pleasure of singing the part of Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro) with Opera da Camera, and during the summer of 2012, she was part of Nelligan (Gertrude) in the second Quebec City Opera Festival.  She also sang lead roles with Opera VMana and Les Jeunesses musicales du Canada. Ms. Bélanger is a returning guest artist in Midsummer Music Dream Festival where she has performed many recitals with lute and guitar.  In March of 2013, she was a Semi-finalist in the Marcello Giordani International Voice Competition in Vero Beach, Florida. She was also one of the few singers to ever receive the Developing Artist Grant in Classical vocal performance from the Hnatyshyn Foundation. Valérie regularily performs with Opéra de Montréal and the OSM choruses and graduated both from Quebec City Music Conservatory and University of Montreal.

In addition to her upcoming role as Noémie in Cendrillon with Opera da Camera, Valérie Bélanger will sing Morgana (Alcina, Händel) at Accademia Europa dell’Opera in Italy, will reprise her role of Blanquette in La Chèvre de M. Seguin with Opéra/Théâtre VoxPopuli and will give many recitals in the Eastern Townships and Quebec City region.
